Korem is a city located in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. It has a population of approximately 80,000 people. While Korem is not known for its maritime industry, it does offer a strategic location for seafarers and shipowners as it is close to the Red Sea, allowing for easier access to ports in neighboring countries like Eritrea and Djibouti. However, it does not have its own ports, shipyards, or factories producing ship parts.
