Ahvaz is the capital city of Khuzestan province in Iran. It has a population of approximately 1.5 million people. Located on the banks of the Karun River, Ahvaz is not a major seafaring city but it does have the Karun Port, which is an important inland river port on the Karun River. The city also has a shipyard and factories producing ship parts, making it of potential interest to seafarers, shipowners, and crewing companies.
