Abu Simbel is a small village in southern Egypt known for its ancient temples. It has a population of around 1,000 people. While it may not have direct relevance to seafarers, shipowners, or crewing companies, it is a popular tourist destination due to the impressive temples of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari. These temples were relocated in the 1960s to save them from being submerged by the rising waters of Lake Nasser.
