Laudio (also known as Llodio) is a municipality located in the province of Álava, in the Basque Country of Spain. It has a population of approximately 18,000 people. While Laudio is not a coastal city and does not have direct access to the sea, it is located within close proximity to the port city of Bilbao, which is about 20 kilometers away. Bilbao has a major port and is a hub for seafarers, shipowners, and crewing companies.
