Kuivaniemi is a small village in northern Finland with a population of around 400 people. It is located on the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia, making it of interest to seafarers and shipowners. While Kuivaniemi itself does not have ports or shipyards, the nearby city of Oulu, about 50 kilometers south, has a major port and shipbuilding industry.
