Manavalakurichi is a small coastal town located in the Kanyakumari district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It has a population of around 10,000 people. For seafarers and shipowners, the town has a port called V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust located about 10 km away in Thoothukudi. This port is one of the major seaports in India, handling various types of cargo including containers, petroleum products, and coal. Manavalakurichi itself does not have any shipyards or factories producing ship parts.
