Champdani is a city located in the Hooghly district of the Indian state of West Bengal. It has a population of approximately 160,000 people. For seafarers and shipowners, the city is situated along the River Hooghly, which serves as a major waterway connecting Kolkata to the Bay of Bengal. While Champdani itself does not have any notable ports, shipyards, or factories producing ship parts, it is in close proximity to the Haldia Port, one of the major ports in India.
