Murshidabad is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal. It has a population of around 44,000 people. Although not directly on the coast, it is located on the banks of the Bhagirathi River, which is a tributary of the Ganges. While the city does not have any notable ports or shipyards, it does have historical significance as it was once the capital of Bengal during the Mughal era and has several historical buildings and landmarks that may be of interest to seafarers and shipowners.
