Arbil, also known as Erbil, is the capital city of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq. It has a population of approximately 1.5 million people. While Arbil is not a coastal city, it does have a river port on the Great Zab River, which can be of interest to seafarers. Additionally, the city has a number of shipbuilding and ship repair facilities, making it attractive to shipowners and crewing companies.
