Melfi is a small city located in the Basilicata region of southern Italy. It has a population of around 17,000 people. While Melfi is not directly situated on the coast, it is within driving distance of the ports of Taranto and Bari, which are major hubs for seafarers, shipowners, and crewing companies. The city itself does not have shipyards or factories producing ship parts.
