Lorengau is the capital of Manus Province in Papua New Guinea. It has a population of approximately 6,000 people. Situated on the Manus Island, Lorengau is home to the Manus Island Detention Centre, which was used to detain asylum seekers. The city has a small port that is used for shipping goods and supplies to and from the island.
