Craiova is the 6th largest city in Romania, with a population of around 300,000. It is located in the southwestern part of the country and is an important economic and cultural center. While it doesn't have direct access to the sea, it is connected to the Danube River through the nearby port of Calafat, making it of interest to seafarers, shipowners, and crewing companies involved in river transport. Craiova also has several industrial zones where ship parts can be manufactured.
