Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic, not the United States. It is the largest city in the Caribbean, with a population of around 2.9 million people. While Santo Domingo is not known for its maritime industry, it does have a port called Santo Domingo Haina Port, which is one of the busiest in the country and handles both commercial and cruise ship traffic.
