Hanoi is the capital and second-largest city of Vietnam, with a population of over 8 million people. Located on the banks of the Red River, Hanoi has a rich maritime history and is a major transportation hub for seafarers. Although it doesn't have direct access to the sea, it is connected to the Hai Phong Port, which is one of the largest seaports in Vietnam.
